Supplies for Pediatric Burn Clinic

In early 2020, we made a grant to the Pediatric Burn Clinic (Clinica de Quemaduras Infantiles), a private non-profit organization in Guatemala that is funded solely by foundations and private charities. Located in the Hospital Roosevelt, it is the only outpatient burn clinic in Guatemala. It provides care and, if needed, prosthetics to children with scarce resources who have suffered severe burns. The clinic’s goal is to ensure that no child with burns is left without specialized medical attention and treatment. Our grant provided medical supplies and equipment critical for their patient care, including:

• laser and ultrasound equipment

• medications for pain and infection

• IV fluids

• burn creams, ointments, and wound dressings

• imported specialty fabric for head dressings, gloves, socks, and clothing.
