Technical Job Training

In March of 2019 we made a grant funding technical job training to adults and youth in underserved rural communities in the department of Escuintla, Guatemala. Courses included:

  • haircutting

  • costume jewelry making

  • baking and pastry preparation

  • bamboo craft making

  • motorcycle repair.

The training was provided by INTECAP (Guatemala’s institute for techical training) to 240 participants in seven communities. The courses provided students with the skills to start their own businesses or gain employment, giving them access to a needed source of income without leaving their own community.
